This year’s Steve Mann Challenge Trophy will again be hosted by Kidderminster Advanced Motorists (KAM), winners in 2009, and will take place on Sunday 26th September 2010.

Our thanks go to West Midlands Fire Service who have kindly agreed to let us use Halesowen Fire Station as the venue and to the West Midlands Fire Service Driver Training Section who, in addition to planning the two routes for us, will be supplying at least some of the adjudicators – thereby removing any possible hint of bias or “insider knowledge” for any KAM members who choose to take part!

The competition is open to all IAM and RoSPA members and qualified ADIs and is a great opportunity for the three groups to go head-to-head to find the best driver! The event consists of two drives (one urban, one rural) and a number of written questions based on the Highway Code and Roadcraft.

We look forward to receiving as many applicants as possible for this challenge and would especially (although not exclusively!) like to encourage young drivers - so start practising now and see whether your group can wrestle the trophy out of KAM’s hands in 2010!
