North Staffs Open Day at Sandyford Fire Station

On Thursday November 25th NSAM held an open day to celebrate their move to a new venue for their meetings. After a number of years utilising facilities at Bucknall Hospital the group now meets at the newly opened Sandyford Community Fire Station.
The group chairman Alan Tideswell can be seen with IAM Communications Officer Caroline Holmes cutting the ribbon. Caroline had travelled from London especially to be at the ceremony on Thursday.

In a recent competition held at npower in Fenton, the winner, Naomi Stoddard was very pleased to receive her prize of a Skill for Life. In her entry, Naomi said “I would like the opportunity to test and embed the skills that I would gain from an advanced driving programme”.

Also from npower, Peter Bryan receives a free Drive Check which was carried out on the night. Although Peter’s driving was generally good, Senior Observer Phil Cornes was able to offer some tips for Peter to improve his standard of driving before applying for the IAM advanced driving test.

During the day a competition was held to determine the best time for 20 laps of a Scalextric track. The eventual winner was Nigel Beresford who will receive a free Skill for Life Christmas voucher.
